Line Cook (Experienced)One Door North | North Park, San Diego
One Door North is hiring an experienced line cook (2+ years) to join our established kitchen team. This position is for a cook who wants to work, executes consistently, and takes pride in doing things the right way every time.
We’re looking for a professional line cook who understands systems, moves with urgency, and executes at a high level during service.
Hours Subject to Change but looking for someone to do shifts Friday, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues
What Success Looks Like in This Role
- You can cook fast without cutting corners
- You follow recipes, specs, and plating standards exactly
- You understand proper prep techniques and why they matter
- You know when something is off (broken sauce, over-reduced, poor texture) and fix it
- You show up on time, ready to work, and support the team
What We’re Looking For
- Proven line cook experience in a high-volume or chef-driven kitchen
- Strong fundamentals (sauces, proteins, prep, timing, temperature control)
- Ability to execute consistently under pressure
- Clean, organized station habits
- Strong communication and teamwork
- Coachable, accountable, and respectful
Responsibilities
- Execute menu items to spec with accuracy and consistency
- Prep correctly and efficiently according to standards
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety
- Communicate clearly with BOH and FOH
- Support service flow, prep, and closing responsibilities
- Uphold quality and speed during high-volume service
Pay & Advancement
- wage + tips = $23-$25/hr
