The Department Administrator III is responsible for overall financial aspects of the department, to include, but not limited to: analyzing department budget, preparing the annual budget, ensuring adequate ledger/account reconciliation, preparing monthly financial reports, and ensuring clinical and research compliance. The administrator is responsible for the supervision, counseling and evaluation of department staff. He/she assists chairperson in development and implementation of annual goals.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree with 3 years of relevant experience in management accounting, planning, finance, computer operations, and personnel management, to include supervisory experience
OR
- High school diploma or equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience in management accounting, planning, finance, computer operations, and personnel management, to include supervisory experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate degree
- Health care/physician practice management
- Budget development and how to manage operations to budget
- Contract management experience
- Knowledge of budgeting principles and practices
- Knowledge of human resources concepts, practices, policies, and procedures
- Ability to effectively supervise and train staff and proficiently organize, prioritize and schedule work assignments
- Excellent planning, organization, and implementation skills
- Excellent organizational, communication (orally and in writing) & interpersonal skills
- Skilled in coordinating and organizing meetings and/or special events
- Working knowledge and proficient in the use of various software programs (including database management [e.g. Access], presentation packages [e.g. PowerPoint], spreadsheets [e.g. Excel] and advanced word processing [e.g. Word])
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and competently manage a variety of activities with multiple deadlines; motivation and willingness to take initiative and full responsibility for selected activities; proven ability with budget management and accountability
- Ability to work cooperatively/effectively with others of diverse personalities, education and cultural backgrounds
