Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit

Position Summary

This position, housed in the Dean's Office, will provide support to several areas within the School of Education without administrative support. This position will offer support to School of Education's Dean's Office, Business Office, Office of Student Success, and Spartan Education Scholars Program. Other duties include initiating personnel actions, budgeting (including processing all payments and travel reimbursements), event planning, customer service, and other office activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY AND ONE YEAR OF RELATED OFFICE EXPERIENCE; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE.

Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous professional experience with financial management (e.g., purchasing, A/R, data entry/reporting, and account reconciliation).
  • Experience with software platforms including Banner, Chrome River, Excel and other Microsoft tools.
  • Prior experience working in higher education or state/government operations will be considered favorably.

  • Maintain consistent operation of all departmental administrative business by following and implementing procedures that ensure accurate record-keeping of student, faculty, and employee data, departmental program data, and departmental financial data.

Essential Tasks

Interact with faculty, staff, students, and business partners via email, telephone, and in person. Write and edit documents, forms, correspondence, explain policies and procedures; and report information as needed.

Essential Tasks

Coordinate School of Education and department-sponsored events. Ensure operational policies and procedures are followed.
