This position is based in a professional office environment and may require travel outside the office to meet with residents, program partners, and contractors.

The City of Greensboro is seeking an Administrative Support Specialist to provide critical administrative and program support to the Housing Rehabilitation and Lead Safe Housing Program teams and the residents they serve.

About the Role:

In this role, you will provide administrative assistance and program support for the Citys Housing Rehabilitation and Lead Safe Housing Program teams.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Processing applications in accordance with HUD regulations and program requirements.
  • Following up with applicants and assisting residents throughout the application process.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential program and client files.
  • Processing bids and assisting with contracts and closings.
  • Scheduling inspections and coordinating environmental review requests.
  • Assisting with deed restrictions and related documentation.
  • Verifying home ownership and applicant income.
  • Coordinating tenant relocation arrangements.
  • Maintaining rehabilitation program databases and generating database reports.
  • Assisting with grant writing activities and preparation and submission of required federal reports.
  • Providing professional and responsive customer service to program clients.
  • Safeguarding personally identifiable information and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Communicating and coordinating with residents, contractors, program partners, and City staff.
  • Traveling outside the office as needed to meet with clients, contractors, and program partners.
  • Performing other administrative and program support duties as assigned.

This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Qualifications

What You Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. with 1 to 3 years of administrative or program support experience involving Application processing, Records Management, and Data Entry.
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HUD-funded housing programs
  • Housing rehabilitation programs
  • Lead-based paint or Lead Safe Housing programs
  • Community development programs
  • Processing applications and determining or verifying eligibility
