We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to work onsite at our NCDOT client site in Charlotte West. This person will perform administrative and office support activities. This person will work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Must be well organized, detail oriented, high energy, and responsive with excellent communication, writing and proofreading skills. This position will perform a variety of office support duties which will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of documents and reports through the use of technology
  • Compiling records
  • Organize and maintain project files (electronic and hard copies)
  • Creating requisitions for managing inventory
  • Administering payroll/time entry in SAP system
  • Processing reports in SAP
  • Reviewing project budgets in SAP
  • Reviewing contractor’s certified payrolls for FHWA compliance and scheduling
  • Maintaining technicians’ certifications
  • Track Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) participation
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements: 

  • High school degree or equivalent required, Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or assigned discipline from an appropriately accredited institution preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of clerical or administrative experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of general concepts, practices, and theories used in construction, construction inspection, and /or construction surveying preferred
  • Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking and completing projects independently or with limited supervision
  • Experience in maintaining neat, legible and accurate records and reports, including computer/iPad data entry
  • Must have a valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Self-motivated, confident, energetic, and creative
  • Attentive to details
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet multiple, simultaneous deadlines in a short timeframe
  • Effective time management skills
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, in a team, and cooperatively with and in support of others
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat required

 The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $17.00 - $30.00. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
