In addition to strengthening the writing curriculum, the Coordinator is expected to support the writing component of the Excel Program, which assists first-year students predicted to benefit from additional academic scaffolding, and by providing oversight of the writing component of the Bridge Program, an intensive summer transition experience that helps incoming students build the skills, confidence, and academic readiness needed for success in college-level writing. The Writing Coordinator provides academic leadership for multi-section, high-enrollment writing courses that serve students across all majors, ensuring coherence, quality, and innovation in writing instruction at a time of rapid change in student writing practices, including the adoption of generative AI.
