OPS HEALTH SUPPORT TECHNICIAN - 64952527 1 1 Government of FloridaOPS HEALTH SUPPORT TECHNICIAN - 64952527 1 1FL$18.38–$20 / hourYour Specific Responsibilities: Performs Laboratory testing and patient servicing in a Health Department laboratory either alone or in cooperation with another lab employee Performs daily maintenance of equipment Maintains a clean and disinfected environment in lab at all times Prepares specimens for transport to outside labs Records and maintains records and results as required by Florida statutes Orders lab supplies as needed Results of lab testing performed are recorded timely and accurately in Electronic Medical Record Performs venipunctures, urine collection and finger sticks for all clinics on all age groups Responsible for quality control of lab testing and equipment Helps coordinate laboratory flow with clinic nursing supervisor and/or Center Manager Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong internal and external customer service skills Ability to independently solve problems Knowledge of medical terminology. Qualifications: Minimum - At least 6 months experience doing phlebotomy Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation Willingness to travel to all 5 health department clinic sites to cover Preferred - Phlebotomy certification 1 or more years' experience in a medical clinic setting 1 or more years' experience performing laboratory services, including venipuncture Florida Department of Health Mission, Vision, and Values: Mission: To protect, promote & improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county & community efforts.
