p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients calling with eye-related complaints, post-operative concerns, medication questions, or urgent symptoms • Use established triage protocols and clinical judgment to determine the urgency of patient issues and direct them to the appropriate provider or clinic • Document all patient interactions thoroughly and accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) • Educate patients on post-operative expectations, medication instructions, and when to seek emergency care • Collaborate closely with Physicians, clinical technicians, and administrative teams to support seamless patient care • Maintain accuracy and consistency in documenting symptoms, histories, and triage decisions • Assist with administrative tasks including scheduling, routing messages, and preparing provider communications • Utilize Excel for tracking, reporting, and documentation needs as assigned • Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone) • Practice urgency at all times with patient's time, as well as Doctor's time and schedule • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA.
Requirements: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required • 5+ years of ophthalmic clinical experience required • Experience across multiple ophthalmic subspecialties preferred • Strong working knowledge of ophthalmic emergencies and the ability to accurately triage over the phone • Familiarity with ophthalmic surgical procedures and post-operative care • Optical experience is a plus, but not required.
