Required Qualifications • Education, training, and experience in a field related to construction • Experience with the design & construction of complex building and infrastructure projects across diverse building construction methods • Experience with budgeting, estimating, and financial forecasting • Experience with construction scheduling, logistics, safety, and QA/QC • Experience with design/construction documents and building codes • Experience with contractual expectations and responsibilities • Skilled in clear, timely, and helpful communication • Demonstrated conflict resolution and team-building skills • Excellent time management and prioritization skills • Ability to maintain professional relationships with associates, subordinates, contractors, designers, and the university community. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience on "state-owned" projects with knowledge of higher education facilities requirements, especially in Virginia • Experience with the processes and policies of the Commonwealth of Virginia Construction and Professional Services Manual (CPSM) • Depth of knowledge in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems • Understanding of Erosion and Sediment Control measures and installation practices, with basic emphasis on compliance inspections, reporting, and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPP) monitoring • Experience developing and utilizing databases • Knowledge of scheduling software, Bluebeam, Project Management Information System platforms (Procore, BIM 360, etc.), and Microsoft Office.
