The COS ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to Emergency Medical Services (EMS), manages daily medical and financial operations, maintains licensure and protocol compliance, coordinates event schedules, mutual aid agreements, and the AED program, and serves as a role model and mentor to student leaders in support of UVACs mission to provide the highest quality of care, both physical and emotional, to the University of Maine community. The Assistant Director of Operations supports emergency preparedness and fire safety operations for Auxiliary Enterprises departments: reviews and implements life safety plans and procedures, coordinates safety and emergency preparedness training for staff, and manages internal response procedures to emerging and active threats and for continuity of operations during weather, environmental, or infrastructure emergencies.
