Requisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of the sport or activities sponsored, methods, materials, and best practices for successful student participation Knowledge of adolescent growth and development Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, parents, and administrators Excellent oral and written communications Excellent human relations skills Three years of successful coaching experience is preferred Playing experience in the sport to be coached is preferred but not a requirement Qualified applicants should provide evidence of coaching previous experience Maintains school division required certifications Serves as a role model. Requisite Education and Experience Must be at least 21 years of age 3-5 years of coaching experience as head coach preferred 3-5 years of previous coaching experience required Holds or is eligible for First Aid and CPR certification Complete the State Coaches Education Seminar within three years of employment Physical Requirements Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls.
