Your responsibilities will include:Preparing the surgical suite and organizing instruments, equipment, and supplies to support safe, efficient procedures Assisting with patient positioning, prepping, and draping while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety Providing instruments, equipment, and hands-on support to the surgical team during obstetric procedures Maintaining a sterile field, performing counts, and ensuring instruments and equipment function properly Working closely with the surgical team to deliver patient-centered care and a seamless surgical experience What qualifications you will need:Experience Minimum one year of Surgical Technician work experience in acute care setting- requiredLabor and Delivery Surg Technician work experience- preferredEducation High school graduate or GED equivalent Graduate of an accredited educational program for Surgical Technology OR completed appropriate training program for Surgical Technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard of the U.S or in the US Public Health Service If not meeting the aforementionedrequirements:was employed to practice Surgical Technology in a health care facility before 9/1/09 Licenses and Certifications Surgical Technologists that graduate after September 1, 2009 must hold and maintain a current certification as a Surgical Technologist within180 days from the date of graduation. The hospital also features the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery, bariatric (weight loss) surgery, a Heart and Vascular Center, neurology and neurosurgery, a kidney transplant program, a Level IV Epilepsy Center, as well as inpatient and outpatient surgery and acute rehabilitation services for both inpatients and outpatients.
