Job Overview:

The candidate is responsible for post-silicon lab activities related to performance and power characterization, optimization and validation of pre-production CPU/GPU products. Key responsibilities include setting up power and performance measurement platforms, executing test plans, and supporting lab debug activities for the organization.

Responsibilities:

The candidate is responsible for post-silicon lab activities related to performance and power characterization, optimization and validation of pre-production CPU/GPU products. The following is a list of key responsibilities that the candidate will assume: setup power and performance measurement platforms, execute power and performance test plans, and support lab debug activities.

The organization is seeking a Contract Lab Technician to support validation of software, firmware, and platform features for product releases. In this hands-on role, the successful candidate will execute test plans, validate new features, perform debugging and root cause analysis, and work closely with engineering teams to identify and resolve issues. The ideal candidate can independently own assigned validation activities, provide timely feedback on product quality, and contribute to overall platform readiness.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science; 10+ years of relevant work experience.

  • Good understanding of PC system architecture, operating systems, drivers, ACPI and BIOS.
  • Performance/Power/Thermal related lab work experience is an asset.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Skills Needed:

  • Strong understanding of PC (x86) architecture, platform validation, test methodologies, stress testing, benchmarking, hardware certification, and defect tracking.
  • Experience executing QA, verification, and validation activities across Silicon, Firmware, Driver, and Linux software stacks.
  • Hands-on debugging experience with CPU, APU, GPU, and AI-related firmware and software components.
  • Ability to reproduce issues, analyze failures, perform root cause analysis, and document findings clearly.
  • Experience building, configuring, and validating PC systems, including processors, memory, storage, and peripheral devices.
  • Familiarity with validation tools, diagnostic utilities, log analysis, and performance testing.
  • Experience working with bug tracking systems and collaborating with development teams to drive issue resolution.
  • Strong verbal, written, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience generating test reports, validation metrics, and status updates for stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, geographically distributed environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to quickly ramp on new technologies and support multiple validation efforts in parallel.
