equivalent; completion of at least 15 semester units of college-level courses in fire science/technology, sociology, psychology, public education, or a closely related field; and at least one year of experience teaching in a public education or community environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
