Assignment Overview

Join our team as an RN specializing in Surgical Acute care. This role requires a dedicated nurse who is committed to providing high-quality post-operative and trauma care in a fast-paced acute setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse healthcare team.

Assignment Details

  • Facility Type: Acute
  • Shift Details: 12-hour nights, 19:30-07:30
  • Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2565 (negotiable)
  • Unit Beds: 63 (including 49 private and 9 observation beds)
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 4-5 day shift, 5-6 night shift
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Holiday Requirement: Rotate every other holiday
  • Floating Requirements: Travelers are first to float
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Unit/Department Specific Orientation: 2 shifts with a preceptor plus one 12-hour shift for EPIC orientation

Responsibilities

  • Provide post-operative and trauma care
  • Perform dressing changes, wound care, and IV therapy
  • Manage pain and utilize NGs, central lines, and TPN
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active IL license or application in process
  • BLS certification (AHA)
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Experience in post-op care of patients
  • Understanding of OSF Drug-Free Campus policy with required negative drug screen

Preferred:

  • Experience with EPIC charting system

PEL/VIP Job ID #65348542. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
