PEL/VIP is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois.

Assignment Overview

Join the Surgical Acute Care team as an RN, specializing in post-operative care and trauma. Ideal candidates will possess strong critical thinking skills and work effectively within a team.

Assignment Details

  • Facility Type: Acute
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (0700-1930 for days, 1930-0730 for nights)
  • Estimated Gross Weekly Pay Package: $2565 (negotiable)
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Orientation: 2 shifts with preceptor, plus one 12-hour shift for EPIC and professional orientation
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Holiday Requirement: Rotate every other holiday
  • Floating Requirements: First to float; will float to units with similar experience levels

Responsibilities

  • Provide post-operative and trauma care
  • Perform dressing changes, wound care, IV therapy, and pain management
  • Manage drains, NGs, central lines, and TPN
  • Collaborate with Charge RNs and patient care techs
  • Utilize CPAP and assist with RT-managed equipment

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active IL license or confirmation of application initiation
  • BLS (AHA) certification
  • Experience in post-op care, critical thinking, and teamwork
