Description

American Traveler is hiring a Step-down RN for a night-shift teaching hospital position requiring 1 year of progressive care experience and BLS/ACLS certification.

Details

• Step-down/PCU unit in a teaching hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
• Every other weekend required
• Float required within OSU health system
• Call required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of progressive/step-down care experience required
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and IV insulin protocols
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager or director and no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide step-down level care including cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and emergency response coordination with Rapid Response/Code teams
• Manage patients requiring continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, and cardiac drip management
• Utilize heparin protocols and PCA management
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel positions at this health system
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon signing contract, with in-state travel or mailed fingerprint packet required depending on candidate location
