Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Step Down/PCU Night Shift position requiring at least 1 year of telemetry experience and current ACLS/BLS certification.

Details

• Step Down/PCU unit assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• 36 hours per week schedule
• Every other weekend required (Friday & Saturday nights)
• Floating required within OSU system
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry/step down nursing experience required
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips required
• Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills required
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• Peripheral IV line care and management skills, including starting and maintaining IVs
• Oxygen administration and nasal cannula experience
• Isolation precautions/PPE knowledge required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry observation
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, though candidates with only 1 year of experience require manager review before offer
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing to avoid credentialing delays
