Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and current Epic proficiency.

Details

• Surgical ICU/Oncology unit within a cancer hospital setting
• Adult patient population with diagnoses including hemorrhagic/hypovolemic shock, sepsis, ARDS, craniotomy, stroke, and intracranial hypertension
• 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
• May be scheduled on a 12-hour day/night rotating basis depending on department needs, with shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
• Epic EMR experience required
• Unit utilizes EVD management, ICP monitoring, Massive Transfusion Protocol, mechanical ventilation, CRRT, and vasopressor titration

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of current ICU experience required, within the last 12 months and in the applicable specialty
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skilled in arterial line management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation required
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and CVA/acute stroke care required
• 2 professional references required, at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU and oncology patients requiring advanced monitoring and life support interventions
• First-time travelers with 2+ years of specialty experience will be considered
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment only after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel assignments
• Requested RTO must be submitted with the contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• All candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly upon signing contract, either in person or via mailed packet if located far from Ohio
