Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring at least 1-2 years of experience and an active Washington state license.

Details

  • Short term acute care hospital, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
  • Teaching hospital setting
  • Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
  • 13 week assignment length with block scheduling required
  • Patient ratio of 1:11
  • Weekend work required every other weekend
  • Floating between units required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Special duties include floor care, ER coverage, code response, and rapid response
  • Epic charting system used

Requirements

  • Active RRT certification required
  • BLS required, ACLS and PALS preferred
  • Washington state license required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience required
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Experience with medication delivery systems including aerosol setups, MDI, and nebulizers
  • Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation preferred
  • Experience with airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
  • Skilled in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and oxygen therapy
  • Experience in Emergency Department and Pediatric settings preferred
  • Experience with trauma and rapid response situations preferred
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory care across multiple units including floor care, ER, and rapid response teams
  • Participate in code response as part of a multidisciplinary care team
  • May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
  • Any scrub color accepted for RRT staff
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
  • Returning staff who previously worked at the facility may return after a 3 month waiting period
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50 mile radius
  • First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
