Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring Washington state RRT licensure in hand and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

  • Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, short-term acute care teaching hospital
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00
  • Every other weekend required
  • Block scheduling required
  • 1:11 patient ratio
  • Floating between units required, and may include sister facilities
  • No on-call required
  • Duties include floor care, ER coverage, code response, and rapid response
  • Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • RRT certification required
  • BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred
  • Washington state license required if applicable, must be in hand at time of submission
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Experience with airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
  • Proficient in ABG interpretation and oxygen therapy
  • Experience with pediatric and emergency department settings preferred
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
  • Must not have worked as a permanent Providence employee within 50 miles of this facility within the last 3 months

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory care across ER, floor, and rapid response/code teams
  • Scrub color for RRT: any color permitted
  • No parking fees at this facility
  • First-time travelers not considered for this position
  • Local candidates accepted at lower bill rate
  • Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
  • Returning staff may be eligible to return after 3 months, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
