Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a Washington RRT license in hand and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

  • Short term acute care hospital with Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation
  • Teaching hospital setting
  • Respiratory Therapy / Neuro Diagnostics unit
  • Patient ratio of 1:11
  • Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
  • Block schedule required
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating between units required
  • No on-call required
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Any color scrubs accepted for RRT

Requirements

  • RRT certification required
  • Washington state license required if applicable, must be in hand at time of submission
  • BLS required
  • ACLS and PALS preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Experience with medication delivery systems including aerosol setups, MDI, and nebulizers
  • Experience administering respiratory medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, and others
  • Ventilator management skills including BiPAP, CPAP, alarm troubleshooting, and weaning
  • Airway management skills including extubation, suctioning, and trach care
  • Ability to interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
  • Experience in Emergency Department and Pediatric settings preferred
  • Trauma and Rapid Response experience preferred
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • Minimum 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory therapy services including ventilator management, airway management, and medication delivery
  • Participate in trauma and rapid response situations as part of the care team
  • May float between sister facilities within the state as needed
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel provider and must not apply within 50 miles of the facility
  • Candidates must disclose any prior work history at Providence facilities, including dates and location
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Radius requirement of 50 miles for local candidate designation
  • First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
