Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring an active Washington RRT license in hand and 2+ years of experience.

Details

  • Short term acute care hospital with Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation
  • Teaching hospital setting
  • Respiratory therapy unit with floor care, ER, code response, and rapid response duties
  • Patient ratio of 1:11
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Block schedule required
  • Floating between units required
  • No on-call required
  • Epic EMR used
  • Any color scrubs accepted for RRT staff

Requirements

  • Current RRT certification required
  • BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Washington state RRT license required in hand at submission (license required if applicable)
  • Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Experience with airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
  • Proficient in medication delivery systems and administration of respiratory medications
  • Experience interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
  • Experience in Emergency Department and Pediatric settings preferred
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory care including airway management, ventilator management, and medication administration
  • Respond to trauma and rapid response calls as part of care team
  • May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process; limited flexibility for post-offer requests
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not live within 50 miles of the facility
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
  • First-time travelers considered for this position
