Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift role at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring an active Washington state license in hand and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

  • Short term acute care hospital with Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma designation, also serving as a teaching hospital
  • RRT unit covering floor care, ER, code response, and rapid response duties
  • Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Block scheduling required with every other weekend worked
  • Floating between units required
  • Epic EMR used for charting
  • No on-call requirement
  • Patient ratios depend on acuity

Requirements

  • Active Washington state RRT license required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Experience with airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
  • Proficient in ABG interpretation and oxygen therapy
  • Experience in Emergency Department and Pediatric settings preferred
  • Skilled in trauma and rapid response situations

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory care services including medication delivery, airway management, and pulmonary hygiene
  • Support code response and rapid response teams as needed
  • Any scrub color accepted for RRT staff
  • No parking fee at facility
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer changes may not be accommodated
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50 mile radius
  • Returning former employees may reapply after a 3 month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this position
