Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring at least 18 months of specialty experience and a GA or compact RN license in hand.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (Med Surg B) setting at a hospital
• Patient population includes CHF, congenital heart disease, LVADs, angioplasty, dysrhythmias, cardiogenic shock, CAD, heart transplant, and chest pain cases
• Utilizes vasoactive drips such as Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Cardizem, and Milrinone along with Lasix, Bumex, Heparin, and Insulin
• Requires peritoneal dialysis and insulin drip experience
• AM shift, 3x12s, 36 hours per week
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license in hand
• 18 months of experience in specialty within the past 3 years
• Peritoneal dialysis and insulin drip experience required
• Must pass a proctored rhythm identification test (non-multiple choice) with two attempts allowed upon starting

Additional Information

• Provide care for cardiac and progressive care patients requiring close monitoring and vasoactive medication management
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• Former Emory or Houston perm staff must be separated for at least 1 year before returning to the health system, or 18 months if returning to the same facility
• RTO limited to a maximum of 5 days if not near a holiday, or 3 days if falling on or near a holiday, with only one holiday request allowed
