Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Telemetry unit requiring high-acuity trauma experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical step-down unit with 6-20 beds
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week
• Possible float to other IMCU units, most commonly 5J and 12A
• Weekend shift requirement of 4 shifts per month
• Block scheduling generally not approved

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a step-down or progressive care unit
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma hospital settings required
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered

Additional Information

• Work in a Level 1 trauma center known for complex and challenging cases
• Provide care in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment for critically ill patients
• Mandatory holiday coverage required: Thanksgiving Day or the day after, plus either Christmas Eve and Christmas Day or New Year's Eve and New Year's Day
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel rate
