Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Progressive Care Registered Nurse to join our team. The nurse will provide primary nursing care within a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit that includes 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-down ICU.

Shift Information

This position is for night shifts from 1845 to 0715. The scheduled commitment is 36 hours per week following the initial week of orientation, with no guaranteed hours. The unit operates 24 hours from Monday through Friday.

General Job Duties

• Delivery of primary nursing care
• Telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip reading
• Performing fingerstick blood sugar tests

Equipment Utilized

• Meditech charting system
• Pyxis for medication management
• BIPAP devices
• Continuous cardiac monitoring systems

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience within the last year; experience in Progressive Care and telemetry preferred
• ACLS certification preferred
• Current PALS certification preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred

Floating Requirements

The Registered Nurse may be required to float to other acute units such as Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, ICU, and ER as necessary.

Dress Code

Scrubs are the required attire for this position.

Holiday coverage is required for this role.
