Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Progressive Care Registered Nurse to join our team. This role involves providing primary nursing care in a fast-paced environment, equipped with a 15 bed unit that includes 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-down ICU.

Scheduling Information

The position requires scheduled 36 hours per week following an initial week of orientation. Please note that there is no guarantee of hours and no call requirements.

General Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care to patients.
• Monitor telemetry and perform telemetry strip reading.
• Conduct fingerstick blood sugar tests.

Equipment Utilized

• Meditech charting system
• Pyxis for medication management
• BIPAP machines
• Continuous cardiac monitoring equipment

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year.
• Preferred experience in Progressive Care and telemetry.

Licenses and Certifications

• ACLS certification preferred.
• Current PALS certification preferred.
• NIHSS certification preferred.

Floating Requirements

The Registered Nurse may be required to float to all acute care units within the facility, including Medical, Surgical/Pediatric, ICU, and ER as needed.

Dress Code

Scrubs are required for this position.

Holiday Coverage

Holiday coverage is required for this role.

Experience Requirement

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is preferred.

Certifications Required

• ACLS
• BLS/BCLS
