Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves providing primary nursing care in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit, which includes a 3-bed step down ICU and 12 telemetry beds.

Shift Information

Day shift: 0645 to 1915. Scheduled for 36 hours per week following the initial week of orientation. No guaranteed hours. 24-hour operation Monday through Friday.

General Job Duties

• Deliver primary nursing care to patients.
• Monitor telemetry and read telemetry strips.
• Perform fingerstick blood sugar testing.

Equipment Utilized

• Meditech charting system
• Pyxis for medication dispensing
• BIPAP machines
• Continuous cardiac monitoring equipment

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year; Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Current PALS certification preferred.
• NIHSS certification preferred.

Additional Information

This position requires floating to other acute care units, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER as needed.

Dress Code

Professional scrubs required.

Holiday Coverage

Holiday coverage will be required.
