Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care/IMCU position requiring 2 years of experience and high-acuity trauma center background.

Details

• Work in the 5J-Intermediate Progressive Care Unit (IMCU), a 16-10 bed unit
• Patient ratio of 1 to 4
• Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, and encephalopathy cases
• Administers heparin drips
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week
• Block scheduling generally not approved
• Expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma center settings required
• Proven success managing critical, fast-paced trauma cases required
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered

• Work in a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and challenging cases
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel rate
