Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/PCU RN with cardiac drip titration experience for a 13-week assignment requiring a WA or compact RN license.

Details

  • PCU/Stepdown unit in a Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
  • Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
  • Patient ratio of 1:4-5
  • Uses Epic for charting
  • Floating between sister facilities may be required
  • Cardiac, renal, neurological, GI, and cardiovascular patient populations including CVA, renal failure/transplant, and post cardiac cath/surgery cases

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Cardiac drip titration and management experience is a hardstop requirement
  • Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
  • Skilled in IV therapy, blood product administration, and central/PICC/peripheral line management
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code teams
  • Experience with wound care, IV insulin protocols, and pacemaker management
  • 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

  • Provide step-down level care including cardiac monitoring, drip titration, and emergency response support
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred, as is previous charge nurse experience
  • Candidates must not have worked as a permanent, travel, or per-diem employee at a Providence facility within the last 3 months
  • Former Providence staff must also reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles are considered local and may be accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Must be willing to commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day), with only one of Thanksgiving or Christmas permitted as a choice
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
