American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) role requiring cardiac drip titration experience and a compact or WA RN license, with first-time travelers welcome to apply.

Details

  • Short term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital
  • PCU/Stepdown unit caring for cardiac telemetry, renal, neurological, and GI patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:4-5
  • Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Epic EMR used
  • Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of submission
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • At least 1 year of PCU or stepdown RN experience required
  • Cardiac drip titration and management experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy management
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral/PICC line management, and blood product administration
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code teams
  • 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

  • Provide care for cardiac telemetry, renal, neurological, and GI patient populations
  • Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips, including titration
  • Perform wound care, isolation precautions, and IV insulin protocol management
  • Support cardiovascular procedures including pacemaker management and pre/post cardiac catheterization care
  • Candidates must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Candidates may choose only one of Thanksgiving or Christmas off
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible for travel pay rate; local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Any color scrubs accepted for RN
