Description

American Traveler is hiring a PCU Registered Nurse for a night shift assignment at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of PCU experience and current ACLS/BLS certification.

Details

  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a Short Term Acute Care, Level III Trauma Center
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Floating between units required
  • Every other weekend required
  • Block schedule required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Charting completed in Epic

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum 1 year of PCU/Telemetry nursing experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, starting and maintaining IVs, cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and non-invasive airway management
  • Experience with high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, central and PICC line management, chest tube care, continuous bladder irrigation, PCA, and cardiac drip titration preferred
  • Experience with seizure disorders and substance withdrawal patient populations preferred
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care within a fast-paced PCU/Stepdown environment, managing cardiac, respiratory, and neurological cases
  • May be required to float between sister facilities within the region
  • Scrubs of any color permitted; surgical attire provided for surgical services
  • No parking fees at the facility
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this block assignment
  • Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate; radius rule of 50 miles applies
  • Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including dates and locations
