Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring WA or compact RN licensure and prior telemetry/step-down experience.

Details

  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a Short Term Acute Care, Level III Trauma Center
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00)
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Floating between units required
  • Every other weekend required
  • Block scheduling required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/step-down/telemetry experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and oxygen administration preferred
  • Experience with insulin drip titration and management preferred
  • Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
  • Must not have Nursys or background check hits

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care to PCU/telemetry patients, including cardiac, neurological, and substance withdrawal cases
  • Scrubs of any color permitted; surgical attire provided for Surgical Services/SPT
  • No parking fees at this facility
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the same health system
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not currently reside within 50 miles of the facility
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for the travel rate
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Limited RTO accommodated; extensive time-off requests may delay offer approval
