Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2 years of PCU experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown unit setting with telemetry monitoring
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Weekday and some weekend shifts required with rotating holiday coverage
• Estimated patient ratio of 1:3
• Required to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required, with strong Stepdown/PCU background
• IV start and telemetry skills required
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and medication administration
• Experience with Heparin protocols and cardiac drip management (no titration)
• Experience with High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and respiratory management
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management experience
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor-level leader and the second from a charge RN; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a progressive/stepdown care telemetry environment
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• Candidates residing outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking
• Candidates located far from Ohio will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently upon receipt
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments once away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for travel assignments
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and built into the contract prior to consideration
