Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring Neuro/PCU experience and OH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• PCU/Neuro Stepdown/IMC unit setting
• Neurological and cardiac patient population including CVA, craniotomy, intracranial bleeds, TBI, and post-TPA care
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30, 36 hours per week
• Rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays
• Floating required within OSU system
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of PCU-level experience with Neuro patients required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and heparin protocols
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN or higher; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to neuro and cardiac stepdown patients, including pre/post neurosurgery and craniotomy care
• Manage isolation precautions/PPE and respiratory support including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract, as this is time-sensitive
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, though candidates with only 1 year of experience may require additional manager review
• Former employees eligible for assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current OSU hospital employees are not eligible for traveler positions
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
