Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit Float position requiring OH or compact RN license and telemetry experience.

Details

• PCU Float Pool position within a hospital setting
• May be required to float to another affiliated hospital location, approximately a 5-6 minute walk away with no commute required
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30, 36 hours per week
• Weekends may be required
• Utilizes EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of solid step-down/PCU experience required
• Skilled in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second from a Charge RN or higher (no coworker references accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide care for cardiac telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown patient populations
• Skills include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Respiratory care skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
• Cardiac monitoring responsibilities include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Additional clinical skills include wound care, IV insulin protocols, pre/post hemodialysis management, and pre/post neurosurgery care
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
• RTO requests must be submitted with the contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing the contract
