Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of acute care experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30), 36 hours per week
• Weekday and some weekend shifts required
• Floating required within the OSU system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, with strong acute care background preferred
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Cardiac monitoring experience including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with rapid response/code team protocols
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills, including peripheral line and PICC line management
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE use
• Experience caring for neurological/psychiatric patients and substance withdrawal cases
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care
• PCU experience not required for this role
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as travelers at this facility
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
