Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring telemetry monitoring experience and an OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a teaching hospital
• Day/Night rotating schedule (3x12 hours) with no fixed pattern, based on organizational needs
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within OSU
• Must pass a telemetry competency test
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Experience monitoring telemetry patients required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response as needed
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Administer blood products, manage heparin protocols, and titrate insulin drips
• Provide wound care and utilize wound vac equipment as needed
• Perform non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration
• Utilize rapid response and code teams when necessary
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, though candidates with only 1 year of experience require manager review before offer
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing
