Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a night shift Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active Ohio or compact RN license.

Details

• Blended Med-Surg and PCU unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Med-Surg assignments typically 4:1, PCU assignments typically 3:1, though travelers may occasionally be flexed to a 5:1 Med-Surg ratio based on unit needs
• Floating required within OSU facilities
• Charge RN capability required on night shifts

Requirements

• Active Ohio or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP management, med titrations, and cardiac drip titration required
• Skilled in respiratory care including HFNC, nasal cannula, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response/code team protocols required
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE experience required
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management skills required
• Feeding tube care and management experience required
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across a blended Med-Surg/PCU/telemetry patient population
• Previous charge RN experience preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current OSU hospital employees are ineligible to be hired as travelers
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
