• Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical, Ortho-Neuro
• Location: Parkersburg, West Virginia
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930–$2,030
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 24, 2026
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; typically three 12-hour shifts
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m., with a 30-minute meal break
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend; day weekend shifts are generally Saturday and Sunday
• Unit Profile: 33 private beds with an approximately 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Charting: EPIC experience required

Medical-Surgical Travel RN Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license valid for practice in West Virginia
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience, including orthopedic or neurologic patient care
• Experience caring for patients recovering from hip, knee, shoulder, spine, neck, and other elective or trauma-related procedures
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Recent EPIC documentation experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with PCA pumps
• Unexpired driver’s license required for submission
• Ability to float to other medical-surgical units as needed and care for patients within your skill set

Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to orthopedic, neurosurgical, fracture, and general medical-surgical patients
• Perform assessments, administer medications, monitor patient progress, and communicate changes to the care team
• Safely manage IV fluids and PCA pumps according to established protocols
• Support patients before and after elective surgeries and other acute medical procedures
• Collaborate with patient care technicians, charge nurses, rehabilitation professionals, providers, and families
• Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC
• Participate in unit-based safety, discharge planning, patient education, and quality-care initiatives
• Float to other medical-surgical areas when needed while maintaining safe, patient-centered care
