Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg, medical-surgical, or acute care nursing experience
• Experience caring for orthopedic patients and using PCA pumps
• EPIC charting experience required
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, weekends as scheduled, and float to other Med/Surg units as needed
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse Med/Surg patient population
• Care for patients recovering from elective orthopedic procedures, fractures, and neuro-related surgeries
• Monitor and manage IV fluids and PCA pumps within scope of practice
• Document accurately in EPIC and maintain timely, organized charting
• Collaborate with charge nurses, PCTs, and the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, efficient patient care
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Support unit needs through floating to other Med/Surg areas when required
• Deliver compassionate care that helps patients feel informed, supported, and confident in their recovery
