Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Trauma Registered Nurse (RN) position in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing critical care in a Level One Trauma Center ICU, caring for adult surgical, medical, and trauma patients. The nurse will join a dedicated team utilizing the latest evidence-based therapies and advanced life support equipment, including ECMO and continuous dialysis, in a fast-paced 24-bed unit.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend rotation and some holidays. The unit can consider four-day, 12-hour shifts if the traveler is interested.
  • Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, at least 2 years of ICU experience, current Epic charting system experience, and a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty they are submitting to.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with arterial line management, chest tube procedures, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, ventilator care, central line management, renal failure management, sedation protocols, invasive monitoring such as pulmonary artery lines, and experience in trauma or surgical intensive care units.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS
  • Float: Travelers are required to float as needed.
  • Additional Information: Candidate must pass a telemetry test prior to starting, with a strict passing score and attempts as specified. The assignment duration is from 10/12/2026 through 01/11/2027, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The facility is a Magnet-designated hospital ranked #1 in Wisconsin, renowned for its patient care and research initiatives.
