Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: NC or Compact license pending acceptable for submission Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Must-Have: Cardiac Telemetry experience Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could lead to a cancel and DNR. Unit accepts first-time travelers with stepdown experience preferred. Local candidates are accepted with a rate difference. Skills required include IV starts, telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and management of dysrhythmias. This is a cardiac telemetry unit, and cardiac tele experience is a must. The nurse-to-patient ratio will be 1:6 with an average daily census of 23. 36 or 48 hour shifts can be offered. The unit will accept lengths of 13 weeks or longer. RTO is a maximum of 7 days for auto offer. Weekend requirements include 8 weekend shifts. Patient diagnoses include cardiac arrhythmias, myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndrome, uncontrolled diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, heart failure, and post-operative care. The unit requires nurses to handle the same ratios as other units. Quality nurses are needed who can manage high acuity patients and maintain teamwork. The unit uses telemetry and manages cardiac drips with no titrating required for blood pressure. Special procedures and quality nursing practices are essential, with no charge nurses on the unit. Staff members must be willing to float as required. Interdisciplinary support includes various therapy and service teams. Nurses must be skilled in various telemetry and cardiac management techniques. Floating within or near the facility may be required.
