TravelNurseSource is working with Revolution Healthcare Services to find a qualified PCU RN in Columbus, Ohio, 43210!

Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit / Medical Oncology RN – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Competitive rates provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day/Night rotating based on unit needs). Shifts reviewed every 4-week scheduling period. Weekend shifts variable based on unit needs.

Highlights:
  • 36-bed oncology telemetry unit with over 24 progressive care beds providing high-acuity patient care
  • Oncology experience preferred but not required – ICU and PCU backgrounds also welcome
  • Patient population includes solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 for PCU level; 1:4-5 for Medical-Surgical Telemetry
  • Epic charting system with 72 hours of orientation provided
  • Strong interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and more
Requirements:
  • Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of current PCU experience
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Previous travel experience preferred
  • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
  • Ohio fingerprinting required – must be completed immediately upon contract acceptance
Required Clinical Skills:
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry monitoring
  • Port access and management
  • Blood product administration
  • Central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV care and management
  • PCA pump and heparin protocol management
  • Cardiac drip management (titration and non-titration)
  • Chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac)
  • High flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and tracheostomy management
  • Arterial blood gas interpretation
  • Feeding tube care and continuous bladder irrigation
  • Rapid response team utilization
Preferred Clinical Skills:
  • Dysrhythmia management
  • IV insulin and insulin drip titration protocols
  • Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
  • Wound care and wound VAC management
  • Arterial line management and phlebotomy
  • Surgical drain management

Additional Information:

Compliance Requirements: Strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start date. Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing. Unresponsive or uncooperative candidates risk contract delays or cancellation.

References: Two professional references required. At least one must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role. Charge RN acceptable for second reference. Coworker references not accepted.

Vaccine Requirements: Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only). COVID-19 vaccine not required.
