Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Rotating weekdays and weekends. Rotating holidays. 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
Highlights:
- Neurological progressive care unit with stroke patients, medical-surgical overflow, and diverse neurological diagnoses

- Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required; first-time travelers welcome
- 12-month assignment with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Float within the health system as needed; opportunity to expand clinical skills across multiple units
- Advanced neurological care including post-TPA care, craniotomy patients, lumbar drains, and TNK administration
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of progressive care unit experience
- Epic charting system experience required
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Core competencies: blood product administration, CVA care, heparin protocols, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, intracranial bleeds, craniotomy care, traumatic brain injury, pre/post neurosurgery care, and neuro stepdown skills
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Two professional references required: at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor
- Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately upon contract signing
