Infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention are crucial for this role. Description: This position involves working in a medical oncology progressive care unit. The unit has a high acuity level with a focus on patient care for oncology cases. Registered Nurses will care for patients with solid tumors, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology. The unit consists of telemetry beds, with a particular portion dedicated to progressive care. The role may include interaction with pediatric patients, although they are rare. Pediatric experience is not required for agency nurses. Nurses will be involved in multiple procedures and equipment management, such as telemetry monitoring and various infusion pumps. A strong emphasis is placed on interpreting dysrhythmias and using rapid response teams. Candidates should be comfortable with central line and peripheral line management, blood product administration, and managing various cardiac drips. The position requires adaptability to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity when necessary. Professional growth and development opportunities are available.
