Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12-hour rotating day/night shifts (36 hours per week), weekdays and some weekends, rotating holidays required

Highlights:

  • 30-bed Progressive Care Unit specializing in lower acuity cardiac care with electrophysiology focus
  • Patient ratio of 1:3-4 across all shifts
  • EPIC charting system in use
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
  • Case mix includes arrhythmias, syncope, chest pain, congestive heart failure, post-catheterization care, and open heart surgery overflow
  • Float opportunities to units of similar or lower acuity within the organization as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
  • Cardiac experience strongly preferred
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Strong proficiency in IV starts, telemetry interpretation and monitoring, and conscious sedation
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
  • Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care for patients in a lower acuity cardiac unit
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and perform telemetry monitoring
  • Assist with special procedures including pacemaker placement, cardioversions, cardiac catheterizations, sheath management, and anti-arrhythmic drug loads
  • Administer medications, manage peripheral lines, and provide oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and isolation precautions
  • Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams as needed
