Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Overall 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience. License: Must have a valid compact or state nursing license. Certifications: Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Preferred: ONS Chemo Must-Have: 1 year of PCU experience Demonstrated ability to float within scope of practice Chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics experience Current acute care experience Description: This position is for a busy mixed acuity unit that cares for both PCU and Med Surg patients. The unit experiences a high patient volume. All permanent staff are PCU trained. Staffing ratios aim for 1:4 but can increase to 1:5. Weekend scheduling is variable based on unit needs. There is no blocked scheduling offered. All travelers may be required to float between various acute care units. Shift assignments are reviewed every four weeks. Changes in shift assignments are based on staffing priorities. Patient ages range from adults to geriatrics. Additional interdisciplinary support provided includes: Physical therapy Respiratory services Radiology Social services Pharmacy Candidates must have current and consistent acute care nursing experience within the last 12 months. References must include two professional references, with at least one from a manager or someone in a leadership role. Co-worker references are not accepted. All applicants must complete necessary credentialing processes promptly. Former employees are eligible for rehire after being away for six months or more. Full compliance with all requirements is essential for consideration.
