Job Title: RN - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Telemetry or PCU experience License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring skills Cardiac strip and rhythm interpretation Experience with arterial lines, titration of drips Non-invasive ventilator care Familiar with chest tubes or drains Post procedure site care Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit. This facility is a community-based hospital with licensed beds. The unit has an average daily census of 18 patients. Patients will include those requiring continuous monitoring of cardiac, respiratory, hemodynamic, and neurologic status. Common diagnoses include NSTEMI, patients post STEMI, cardiac interventional procedures, electrophysiology procedures, thoracic surgeries, heart failure, and post-stroke care. Patient ratios are usually 1:3 or 1:4 depending on interventions. All required nurse licensure and certifications must be current. Support staff includes CNAs and charge nurses available for assistance. Telemetry monitoring is essential, with continuous cardiac monitoring required. Familiarity with EMR systems and monitoring equipment is important. The unit maintains a positive, team-focused culture.
